We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Solar PV Installer to join our renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end installation of residential and commercial solar photovoltaic systems. You will work at heights to assemble support structures, install solar modules, and integrate advanced electrical components including inverters and battery storage systems.
Key Responsibilities
System Layout & Assembly: Plan PV system configurations based on site conditions; measure, cut, and assemble support structures (racking) on various roof types and ground mounts.
Installation: Securely mount solar modules and panels according to building codes; apply weather sealant to all equipment and roof penetrations to ensure structural integrity.
Electrical Integration: Connect PV panels to the building’s electrical system; install inverters, charge controllers, and lithium-ion battery backups.
Testing & Commissioning: Use digital multimeters and diagnostic tools to test operating voltages; calibrate systems to ensure they are within acceptable power limits.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine system checks, clean panels to optimize performance, and troubleshoot malfunctioning components or wiring issues.
Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to OSHA standards, including the use of fall protection gear (harnesses/anchors) and electrical safety protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required); Vocational training in renewable energy or electrical systems (Preferred).
Technical Skills: * Proficiency with hand and power tools (drills, saws, wrenches).
Basic understanding of Ohm’s Law and electrical circuits.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, single-line diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work at great heights and on sloped surfaces.
Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs repeatedly.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, wind, cold).
Certifications: * OSHA 10 or 30 Construction Safety Certification (Highly Preferred).
NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) Associate or Professional certification is a major plus.
