Location: San Jose, CA / Seattle, WA / Remote (Hybrid)
Organization: Adobe Creative Cloud / Adobe Firefly Services
The Opportunity
Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe’s all about. In this role, you will join the team responsible for building the next generation of creative intelligence. You will not just be training models; you will be shipping them to over 30 million creators. You’ll work on high-impact projects like Adobe Firefly, computer vision for image/video editing, and personalized recommendation engines that power the Adobe Experience Platform.
What You’ll Do
- Model Productization: Bridge the gap between Adobe Research and production. Take experimental models (Diffusion, Transformers, GANs) and optimize them for real-time inference in Creative Cloud apps.
- Scalable ML Pipelines: Design and build robust data and training pipelines capable of processing billions of assets (images, vectors, and PDFs).
- Performance Optimization: Use techniques like quantization, pruning, and distillation to ensure AI features run smoothly on both high-end servers and local user devices.
- Generative AI Innovation: Fine-tune Foundation Models (LLMs and VLMs) for specific creative tasks, ensuring high-fidelity results that respect artist styles and safety guardrails.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers to define AI features and UI/UX Designers to ensure the AI “feels” like a natural creative tool.
What You Need to Succeed
- Education: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Technical Core: Deep proficiency in Python and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Domain Expertise: Strong background in at least one of the following: Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), or Generative Modeling (specifically Diffusion models).
- Systems Knowledge: Experience with distributed training, GPU resource management (CUDA/Triton), and deploying models via Docker and Kubernetes.
- The “Adobe Mindset”: A passion for the arts and a “builder” mentality—you enjoy seeing your code transform into a tool used by designers, filmmakers, and students.
Bonus Points
- Experience with MLOps platforms (like MLflow, Kubeflow, or SageMaker).
- A strong publication record at top-tier conferences (CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS).
- Contributions to open-source AI projects or libraries.
