Job Overview
As a Business Development Principal, you will lead Amazon’s most complex and high-impact strategic partnership activities. This is a high-visibility role where you will shape the future of key business units (such as AWS, Amazon Ads, or Amazon Business) by identifying, negotiating, and executing transformative deals. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, navigating ambiguous environments to drive long-term growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Dealmaking: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate high-profile partnerships that involve complex marketing, commerce, and technology components.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead global teams across Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance to move deals from concept to launch.
- Executive Influence: Act as a central advocate for non-standard partnerships, briefing senior leadership on market trends, risks, and strategic advantages.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive analyses on industry trends (e.g., Generative AI, Fintech, Cloud) to inform product roadmaps and investment strategies.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and own executive-level relationships with global partners to ensure long-term alignment and success.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or complex deal negotiations.
- 7+ years of professional experience in technology, consulting, or GTM strategy.
- Proven track record of influencing senior leadership and executing large-scale technology agreements.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Advanced Degree in a technical or business field.
- Deep expertise in specific sectors like Cloud Computing, AI/ML, Fintech, or Advertising.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on simplifying complex ideas.
